Dermatologist Medical Group of North County (DMG), the largest and most comprehensive dermatology group in San Diego County, has been treating the skin needs of North County residents for 33 years. With 12 dermatologists, 3 dermatology trained Physician Assistants, and three offices, DMG is able to take care of virtually any aspect of dermatology — from simple issues like acne and warts to more advanced problems like skin cancer and severe allergic drug reactions. Many of the group serve at UCSD as clinical faculty — teaching dermatology and dermatological surgery to residents and medical students — resulting in an academic practice in a private-practice setting. Patient education is of utmost importance. Dr. Sherry Rotunda says, "We pride ourselves on patient education and provide more nurses to the patients in order to provide patient instruction. We want the patients to become involved in their own care."

The doctors at DMG also give back by presenting lectures to the public about preventing skin cancer and sun damage, in addition to participating in a free yearly skin cancer screening event through the American Academy of Dermatology. Along with being trained at prestigious universities and medical schools across the country, past and present appointments include the chief of dermatology at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, the president of the San Diego Dermatology Society, the president of the San Diego Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the vice president of the North American Clinical Dermatologic Society.
